I bought my 2004 Katana 600 in November 2008 with less then 2000 miles on it it now has over 5100 miles on it to date. My last bike was a 1989 CBR 1000 Hurricane. I use my Kat as an everyday all weather commuter to and from work I live on the Kitsap Penn and take a ferry across the puget sound 5 days a week. The bike is great except that the rear shock and spring suc for my weight 280 lbs 6foot1. I am going to swap it out with a stock bandit shock and spring and see if that works. I hope to hook up with other Kat owners and riders in my area for group rides or what ever. I am married and have 3 children and one on the way so not looking for anything but some riding buddys. Hope that everyone is having a safe riding summer. BTW I go by RJ thanks.

Welcome to KR form south east OR. For possible solutions to your suspension woes, contact Tmod on here. He has been helping other members on here come up with suspension options for the Kats. Sounds like one of your best options might be a shock from a post 98 750 with a propper spring for your weight, and possibly a re-valve, along with stiffer fork springs. Tmod can help you with a lot more information.John,
