    Hi all!

My brother was going to sell his Kat this spring. He didn't know that i was interested in it and when I asked what he wanted for it, he said I can just have it! I had to pay to ship it form CO to PA but the bike is well worth the $700 I paid for shipping it. Now I'm enjoying a 2000 Katana that seems to be in pretty decent shape.
From what I've been seeing on the forums here, Katana's seem to take a while to warm up (mine about 10-15 min). Is this normal? And is there anyway to speed this process up, other than just letting it warm up with the choke on?
One last thing... I've noticed that it doesn't have power in the middle of the RPM rang (between 5-9K). I can give it full throttle and the RPM's will barely climb until 9k. Then the bike accelorates like normal. The bike sat without being rode for months when my brother had it, and this weekend I've been trying to run some of the cob webs out of it. And it has improved this problem. Still would like to see what you guys think about it though. Any ideas guys?
    thanks!

A cleaner like seafoam will probably help the acel probelem.

An ignition advance will help the bike warm up quicker, and be a little more responsive in the mid range.
