  • new kat owner/first time rider

hey everyone. i'm a first time rider and i recently bought an 88 katana. got a real good deal on it but it def. needs some work to it. the tach doesnt work but the speedometer does, at about what speed is everyone shifting around roughly? the exhaust is fairly loud so i'm having trouble distinguishing the engine from that. also, if anyone knows anything about wiring, the turn signals dont work it does have a good number of miles on it...27k but it runs strong. whats the general life of these bikes? oh btw it's a 600. sorry for all the questions but like i said, first time rider. any tips would be good too. thanks everyone.

      Welcome to KR.

I would break down the issues at hand, and post them in the appropriate forums (like electrical) for a better response. I don't ussualy revist intro threads after the first time I post a welcome. Alot of members don't visit at all, but will respond in other forums.
