Hey guys and gals,
Old guy here, just bought my FIRST "crotch rocket"!!! Do they even call these a crotch rocket anymore? Anyway, picked up a 1998 Katana 600 with 5,000 miles on it for $1,600.00. Been sitting, so it wouldn't start. Did a few things to it and got it running...................................
Now, I put about 12K per year on my full dress Harley and have riding big bikes for years. I wanted a small, cheap bike, just to ride to work and keep the miles off my Harley............................................
so I bought this Kat. Went for my first ride on it yesterday, just about 5 miles up the road to fill the tank. I must say, the Kat is a fun bike to ride, very fun. Of course, it's a complete opposite of my Harley, but it is fun, a different kinda fun. I'm 49 years old, so I'm not into wheelies, stoppies and knee draggin' the corners. I'm also not an old fuddy duddy that doesn't enjoy a little power. Up 'till 8 years ago I raced a Banshee at the local TT track and had riden for years on quads.
I lost my tool and die maker job with GM a couple years ago, so the wife and I loaded up and moved to North Carolina where I am now teaching high school.
There you have it, that's me in a nut shell.
Oh yeah, my students call me "House" after the tv show character. Some say I look like him (I think I'm hotter) and some say I act like him. I'm quick witted and funny and can be very abrasive, but in a funny kinda way.
( I teach Drafting, not English or Spelling, forgive me.)
ciao
