  • Vintage Ohlin shocks for the 80's Kats

    Hey crew,

    I see these cool Ohlins on old Katanas - very sharp looking.

    What's the story on these? Pretty hard to come by? Sources?

    Thanks!

    Anything Ohlins is both good and wicked expensive.

    Would they be nice to have? Yes.

    Would they look really cool? Yes.

    Would they make the bike handle better? Probably not by that much compared to progressives etc.

    Here's some more reading: GS Forum

      Yeah, that seems right to me. Something for the "some day" wish-list.

      For now, needing a stock non-stretched swing arm/shock set-up!

        I have had a set of Marzocchi Stradas on my '83 1100 Katana. Besides looking good the ride is a lot more forgiving than the stock jobbies

          The stock shocks are less than comfortable, but, they weren't meant to be.
          Ohlins = cool as hell = $$$

            Indeed!

            Ebay seems to have them, shipped Italy and France for some reason. Non-adjustable for $700-800, adjustable around $1,500 (wtf??)

                  That foot peg set-up is cool. What bike do you think they're from?

                    Most likely he made them himself or had them machined to his design
