Just got back in ohio to find my RF900RR rear shock sitting in a box I will post pictures soon.

So I got my RF900 rear shock and from what I see it has fluid in it. I cannot seem to find much about it online but if it does and its replaceable I would rather replace it now before placing it on the bike (in the future). Is this possible? Also there is the air tank with it. I think nitrogen goes in it but not sure. Any insight is welcome.

Well as promised here is the old and new shock. New from the RF900.

Then I started cleaning the frame, turns out carb cleaner strips shitty spray paint pretty well. I ended up getting aircraft stripper though and it eats it in seconds. Just have to find a safe place to spray. Didn't do much outside of clean it and pull the front forks off.

ahhaha I assumed as much. I have a portable sand blaster tool that I think I will use. I just have to rig up a place to use it because its super messy.

Get a dumpster liner ( there almost like a thick trash bag only big enough to put a truck in )
And work inside of it so when you are done you can get your blasting media back.

If you can't get dumpster liners go get a cpl of the big sheets of plastic they use to cover the floor when they paint a room.

I might be able to get you a dumpster liner.

Well my buddy doesn't have anymore I'll see if I can find the one he gave me years ago I think I know where its at but I had a couple sections taken out of it to cover windows in an old house in the winter but there still might be enough there for you to work with definitely more than enough for the bike

That would be pretty cool. If not ill just take it out to the yard and sand blast away from anything important lol. Sand won't hurt my yard much (mostly sand under it anyway haha)

If you go the speed limit you are about 5 hours roughly from where I live. I would offer to come up there but with a wife and 4 kids I'm pretty tied down. and when I'm off my wife works when my wife is off I work lol so for me to go anywhere wouldn't be very doable at this point otherwise you bet your ass I would come up there lol.

Well I'm sure we could figure something out when I'm done. Probably won't be done for at least 6 months and then it will be cold so I am setting my goal to about a year from the start. Only time will tell. But 5 hours is a short ride I could do

Lol sounds like something to plan then. by the way have you checked into the plastic sheeting that they use when they paint a room like the stuff they put over the floor to keep paint from getting on it. that stuff might work as well and you can buy it cheap.
