    Only for Kats made PRIOR to 1988. Pics, Sightings, General Information, Questions;
if it has to do with vintage katana's you'll find it here.

now my friend is buildinh another for his brother
240/R16 rear wheel with rear disk put inside the wheel on the side of the drive chain
all started from this GS750 1979

    and them the build began

Hmm it looks cool but bike tyre on a car rim is a bad idea & even with these relitively simple frame mods i would have expected to see it up on a jig

Running about up on its wheels with the weight of the engine in & half the frame removed is also a bad idea as gs frames are not the stiffest ever made anyway imo this is going to look good but be badly twisted out of shape unless you are very very lucky

Sorry if that all sounds a bit negative but its from hard won experiance of frame building & modifying

    Good luck anyway

the man knows what he`s doing
runing the 300 R18 iron self -made wheel for 2 years has caused no problems
this 240 i just like a piece of cake
the main problem was the rear brake

and i can asure you the idea of dirving with such tire is great and safe

Looks pretty cool. There is a guy here in the states that builds choppers but uses motors from Busas, GSXRS and such. They are pretty cool. How much more does he have to do to it?

Safe if used gently maybe i'm not even convinced of that tbh

Also 90% of "custom fighter builders dont know the differance between car & bike rims or tyres

Have a chat with the guys at Taylormade my friend they will put you straight on this one

I'm curious what the issues would be with the modified "car" rims?....

                            Easy fella
guys are trying to protect YOUR butt from yourself and your builder
Just because he has got away with it until now doesn't meen there can't be a problem in the future
If you plan on just showing everyone what he did for you,you can bubble gum it together
If you plan on really riding it , you should be as safe as possible

I have been in the automotive trade for nearly 20 years and have seen tons of butchers try to fix or build things themselves

You got a serious napoleon complex bro...

And just because you make the parts yourself, doesn't mean that a poorly executed bike is anything less than a poorly executed bike. I mean it looks cool, but there is no way in hell I'd ride it. I guess in your country you guys all have skin made of steel that is impervious to asphalt too

Take the stick out of your ***, people express concern and get a lecture on how cool all you "streetfighter" guys are Save it.
