  • 95 kat 600 project build lots of pictures

Well i joined the site to have the resources while building this bike and so far so good. This site seems to have alot of info and helpful people. Here is my build. I bought 3 bikes in hopes of building one good one. From the looks of it i am only missing a few parts and Im hoping when I get closer to having a complete bike to sell off the extra parts that i have to buy the remaining parts that i need. I got a 98 with a bent from but good motor and tranny, along with 2 95 frames. I got the bikes and all the parts home yesterday and wasted no time last night ripping right into the project. In about 2 hours I stripped the 98 to pretty much a bare frame. I put it out this morning any rolled the 95 frame in to start rebuilding. Here are some pics of what ive got done so far.

Here she is sitting back on 2 wheels motor is in and ill work on getting the FE all put together tonight included bars and all electrical that i have on hand right now. This bike is only going to have a little plastic and mostly be a streetfighter look because i didnt get any plastic other then the tail plastic with the bike. Heres a few pics after i got the motor in and the center stand off the 98 so i could get the bike sitting upright to work on.

I'm pretty sure the GS and Kat share the same front wheels. It should work.

yeah i think it should as well ill prolly just sell the post rim off what are they worth anywhats. i polished my gs wheel already and did a custom paint on it as well and dont want to have to do another wheel for it.

On the gsxf im having a hard time desiding what headlight setup i want to go with and how i want to do my gauges since im not putting the front fairing on im not sure how to do my gauges so they arent sticking out like a sore thumb.I do how ever have this biek almost all put together already.

Well i mounted the clip ons, gauge cluster (altho i dont like the looks of it) Im looking for a cheap post gauge cluster. Im going to use some headlights from advanced auto and just wire them in so 1 light is on for low beam and then when you flip highs on both lights will be on. Im getting closer to having the bike put together with the amount of parts that i have right now and then ill have to make a list of parts that i need and a list of parts that are extras.

I havent seen that thread but looks pretty nice. I actually think im going to get a set of driving lights from the local auto parts store and set them up so one light is on for low beam and then both will be on for high beam. As soon as i get them and mounted on the bike ill get some pics up.

pegs are in and mounted on the bike. rear gas tank mount is on, exhaust came in yesterday and i got the header mounted up looks great. 06 full stock exhaust. it was a super ebay find only cost me 70 bucks on ebay for the whole thing shipped to my house. Im working on a gauge cluster setup now. Ill get some more pics as soon as i get the gauges mounted the way i want.
