  • '90 Katana 600 Centerstand/V&H exhaust interference?

Hi, this is my first post. I just got a nice black 1990 Kat 600 with a Vance & Hines Supersport, 4 into 1 exhaust system. I am thinking about installing a center stand off of a 750.

My question is, does anyone know if the center stand interferes with the Vance and Hines exhaust?

    Thanks!

Also, how the EFF do i get rid of Skid Mark?! HAHAHA...that's not very nice.

No advice on the center stand, but a certain number of posts will remove the skid mark. Don't remember what the number is though. 10, 50, 100?

I'm going to say there is a good chance of it, since 99% of after market exhaust do not have a stand stop on them.

So I broke down and purchased a GSX750F center stand. It WORKS without interference with my Vance & Hines Supersport Exhaust. So I'll be able to leave it on.

          ****update****

So....in case anyone else every has this same question....the 1990 center stand off the 750 bolted directly onto the 1990's 600's frame, same hardware, springs etc. and it did NOT interfere with the aftermarket 4 into 1 Vance and Hines Supersport Exhaust kit.

          THAT MAKES ME WANNA

I'll post some pics to this once I install it.

****So I finally got the center stand installed and in the down position it does in fact interfere with the aftermarket V&H SS muffler pipe . So I was left with a dilemma...do I take it off and just use it for maintenance or leave it on and remove the muffler when I need to prop the wheel/s up? I think I will leave it on considering the exhaust comes apart with two extension springs and a bolt. Dunno how to upload pics...****

It's the same stand....well if the the 600 had one installed at purchase time. They were an option on the 600, standard on all others. Good to here V&H exhaust doesn't interfere.

I realize it is the same stand which is why i tried it. My original question was whether or not it interfered with the V&H, which is doesn't. So I am at my desk dancing. Now to find out if a Dyno Jet kit is a worthy purchase because a lot of people seem to not care for it and recommend Factory Pro jet kit. The problem is, it appears the Factory Pro jet kit is for a 1993 - up and I have a 1990. So it seems that the Dyno Jet is the only game on the block for a 1990 600.

90-97 not much change there. I'd call FP. They do make them for your year, wish I could find the part no. For you.
