No pilot jets

Just wondering because someone asked me... Would a bike run without pilot jets? I suppose if it did it would be ridiculously rich...

If by ridiculously rich, you mean like too rich to run, than you are correct. I can't say for sure because I've never done it. I built a set of carbs once, and forget to put the pilot jet in #3 That cylinder didn't fire at all.

I doubt it. The jets create a spraying action that mixes with the air that pulls through the intake. I assume if there were no jets, it would drip, and ultimately find its way into the head or the Airbox.
