Clutch Cable Replacement

Any tips on replacing the clutch cable on my 1999 750 Katana???
It looks like the side cover needs to come off, is a new gasket needed??

Side cover does not need to come off to replace a clutch cable on a kat motor. The sprocket cover over the front sprocket does though. No gasket there as it doesn't seal anything, just keeps the chain/gear away from toes and shoelaces etc.
