Why the heck did they go with Katana for marketing though? /boggle.

But there is the cbr 250r and a the Yamaha 300 to contend with.
I think it's kind of cool that they picked back up the Katana name. I bet this thing isn't much slower than the later production model Kat 600. The Katana has shown to be a transformed bike over time, starting as a true sport bike for its era, then focusing on the sport - touring market, I think the Katana fits as the next generation street bike that is for the people who want a little bit of sport in their life without committing to a gsxr. The gsxr is a popular bike with lots of power, but it's neither comfortable, nor easy to handle to the beginner or aging veteran. These sub 600 sport bikes are starting to get pretty popular and I'm glad Suzuki brought one to the table. The evolution of the Katana.
