First of all let me say how impressed i have been with the site and posters here. In looking to buy a bike I came across a 2000 Katana 600 in pristine condition with 7500 miles on it for 2500.00. Having ridden dirt bikes growing up but that having been MANY years ago I was looking for a starter bike that i could use for work commute on a rural 4 lane 22 mile journey each day. With that said I would truly appreciate the expertise and input that I have seen posted on this forum. Book value-wise this seems like a decent deal but I would really appreciate hearing from some that have been riding these consistently. Thanks in advance.

i got my 99 750 for 2500. 4 days a week i ride 100+ miles a day. its good comfy and reliable. also easy to work on!03/03/2010 - got 99 Kat 750 ,881 miles,blue, STOCK.
04/03/2010 - 2069 miles. Burley frame sliders, mesh mod, carbs overhauled.
08/05/2010 - 8562 Miles, SS lines, shovel del., int. brake light
10/08/2010 - 9862 miles, GSXR cams, futomo Valve
05/22/2011- 11884 Miles, -GSXR cams -Futomo Valve +advancer -
Do it. I would kill to ride to work on my Kat. Do it!

I have rode plenty of bikes cruisers and sport alike and i must say out off all of them my Kat is my favorite to ride..
Very comfortable,parts are easy to get,and the maintenance on the Kat is fairly easy to do yourself,And this forum is by far the best bike forum i have been on bar none.
Ever question i have asked on this site was answered promptly and correctly.
So.. Nice Comfy bike+low cost+awesome site = win
