  • where is the vin on a 2004 gsxr1000

i need all possible locations for the vin on the bike above.

i'm looking to rebuild one, and i want to find a frame with a good title. if the vin is on several parts, i want to know which ones to get.

    thanks

it's usually on the frame, but thats all you need if your building one, everything else that has a VIN on it can be replaced with aftermarket stuff....
it can be on the frame, forks, swingarm, some pieces of the motor, they hide em all over the place....

From seeing this pic, it looks like on the left side of the head stock. That shinny plate in between the top and bottom triple tree.

If you need just one copy of the VIN, it's where squiggy said it is (all motorcycles generally have the main VIN plate on the frame by the headstock). Without that VIN plate, the bike is not registerable.

If you've stolen a bike and are trying to eliminate all the VIN ID's throughout the bike, best of luck -- I'm not telling you where the 9 others on that particular bike are.
