    I found this site that gives details on where the kat started and how it evolved. I found it to be a great site. Check out the time line link, and all the others for all that matters.

    Hmm, not complete, nor accurate...for the USA anyways. According to that site, the Katana production stopped in 2001.

    "After just over 20 years, production of the Katana finally ends in Japan with a limited edition. Only 1100 kats were produced before they dismantled the assembly line."

    I find that hard to believe considering I have a 2006


    interesting though.

        I believe that what we call an "Old School" Kat of the early 80's vintage in North America was built for the Japanese market right up until '01.

              the guys at katanacentral do not consider our bikes to be 'true' katanas, according to them, our bikes are GSXF's....they're pretty hardcore about it over there
