First ride in the rain

i got caught in the rain yesterday for the 1st time ever and to my supprise i wasnt wet. the bike wasnt even hard to controll and no close calls granted i was extremly cautious and defanitly played it safe but still was really easy i was expecting a challenge. Was defanitly a different exp. i did take the msf class in a hail storm tho so the instructor said if we can get our license in that we can ride in anything.

Black ice and snow are a bit more of a challenge than rain or mild hail storms lol.

Personally, I'll take snow over that first rain after a nice dry spell.

Rain isn't that bad after the first 15 minutes or so when the other fluids are lifted to the surface. I actually enjoy riding in the rain when it's not the big drops.

i ride in the rain alot..not my kat but i have a honda cb..i find the rain is pretty decent to ride in as long as you take your time and be aware.

Rain: be extremely cautious of the painted lines -- they act like oil.

Other than that, it's just common sense -- don't push it more than your skills and tires can handle, watch out for hydroplaning (if you do, pull in the clutch immediately and ride it out), and use your skills fully.

I ride in the rain often. First time on the Kat I was expecting something different also. Surprised me when she stayed planted.

My triple doesn't enjoy the rain as much lol. I've ridden in the rain a few times, with drum brakes and crappy handling sometimes it keeps you on your toes.

I've also never thought it was very difficult. I know one day it was 40 outside and started to rain. I was scared ****less but then almost 4 blocks later nothing really changed. Wasn't nearly as terrifing as i had thought. There was one time where the light changed red real quick and i locked up the rear on some oil in the middle of the lane....where i shouldn't have been.... and slid into the middle of the intersection. I just walked myself back to the start and gave a "sorry i'm an idiot" wave to everyone

i got stuck in the rain second time out on my first bike. it was a down pour man was i soaked. i had to throw my shoes out and the helmet was wet for weeks. sucked.

I get stuck in the rain a lot. Don't worry, after a few times being out in it you get used to it.
