I order a tire from ?????????.com on Moday through the internet. Just to be safe, I called them to make sure everything was ok with my shipping info because I had it shipped to a "care of" business address, and I got a voice mail. It took them until Wednesday to get back to me. On Wednesday morning when they called, they said it had not been shipped yet but would go out that day. I expressed that I was disappointed with their claim of speedy shipping and I needed the tire for Friday because of a planned trip. So they told me I would have it for sure by Friday if I was willing to pay the extra for 2 day shipping. So I coughed up $36 more for 2 day shipping. Well guess what? It's Friday, and no tire has arrived. Now let me tell you, I was pissed. I sent a nasty email telling them I didn't want the tire now whether it was in transit or not and that I would be contacting Visa to cancel the payment.
Now here is the cool part. 10 mins later, I get a phone call from Chad, the manager of the company. Let me tell you, the conversation was a bit tense in the beginning, but we ended up being on the phone for 25-30 minutes. He started to inquire about the market here in Canada.I told him that even with the exchange and shipping, I was saving about $70-75 on my tire. Well, I am now a re-seller for ???????.com, if I am interested in it. He explained that shipping was slow because my specific tire is not a common one and they had to order it themselves. I know it is not common, and I told him that was an acceptable excuse. He also refunded my cost for the 2-day shipping and gave me his personal email and phone number. He offered me 15-20% off on tires, depending on the brand...as well as free shipping to me.
So...anyone need a tire?
FYI....I just got off the phone with the dealer here. The Metzeler for my bike cost $300 CDN with taxes included. I paid $147 CDN from this site....delivered.
I was not about to tell Chad that I saved $153 on my tire or he might have been a little more difficult to bargain with...lol.
