What do you do when you find yourself caught in a downpour?? I rode the Kat to work today and it was perfectly fine outside...when it came time to leave at 5:00pm things were a different story. There were 40+ mph winds, and hard hard rain. There was no way I was riding home...it is a 30 mile trip, and when you see numerous cars pulled off the highway with hazards on, you know its not advisable to even attempt to ride your bike. Plus I didn't have any rain gear. I ended up leaving my bike at work and rode the vanpool home. I just hope my bike is safe sitting there in the parking lot...you do have to go through a security checkpoint and flash a badge before you can enter, but I still don't like the thought of leaving it in a parking lot over night.
I have a question though...can TOO much rain damage your bike in anyway? It rained really hard for 45 minutes and then steadily after that. And also, how fast do the winds have to be blowing to blow a bike over? I was really surprised mine withstood the harsh winds.
Anyone have similar experiences?
