  • My new (to me) 2000 Suzuki Katana 600

Here she is, fellas. Clickable thumbnails:

It has an aftermarket Wileyco exhaust. Never heard of them, but a few Google searches seem to suggest that while they're a cheaper exhaust, they're a good deal for the money.

    And here's a video:

As long as there aren't any hidden problems with the bike then I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Thanks. It's surprisingly clean for having 23k+ miles. Looking forward to getting some ride time in this week!

Sounds like every oil cooled bike I've ever heard.

Regardless, something does sound a bit wonky. You got different cams in there? Sounds like a very lumpy idle.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

Well, it was cold when I took the video. However, I did notice that all the Katanas on Youtube sounded lumpy like that at idle. Heck, even other I4 bikes sound similar at idle from what I can tell from their Youtube vids. Once I get it registered and insured I'll take it for a good ride and get it warmed up and see if the idle is still lumpy.

As far as I know the cams are stock.

You sure that's an '00 and not an '01? That blue was a stock '01 Kat 600 color.

                Cheers

VIN confirms its a 2000 model. Unless its had all the plastics and the tank from a 2001 put on it then they must have had the blue in 2000. Seems like I read the 2000 models came in blue and red...
