  • A car hit my bike and fled

A couple of hours ago, I was coming back from a friend's place with the Katana.
I was leaning in a curve, on a dark country road, when I realized that one of the incoming car had moved to my lane.
At that point I don't know what the hell I did but his mirror smashed my mirror and my left-hand glove.
    BOOM the mirror shattered!
I stopped the bike, trying not to fall in the ditch. I looked around and the guy didn't stop, he just continued. So with a swear, I took off and went after him.
I caught him a couple of miles later, talked to him and went at the police station after (alone).

The first thing I told him when I spoke with him was just:
    "Why didn't you stop?"

So, all in all, I'm OK, a bit stressed out but that's understandable.
I'll try to get pics of the bike tomorrow.

    Cheers... and be safe Katriders.

Glad you're okay,... did they charge him with hit and run? or failing to remain?

How did you refrain from getting violent with him?

He answered: "I didn't know what to do." Duh...

I don't know with what of if the police will charge him. I'm ****ed off but I'm mostly happy nothing worse than my mirror happened.

I'm sure the hand is OK has it was just a quick toc on the carbon fiber knuckles.

                  I didn't get violent because:
                  1. That would have put me in trouble (even if he was at fault).
                  2. There's no way he would've given me his info. I got him to trust me, told him that I would call him about the damage and went to the cops.

                  Thanks everyone for your concern.

Way to keep your head about you,... don't know if I would have been able to do the same.

Glad to hear it turned out well.

As far as what may happen to him...who knows. All the police can do is send a hit and run report over to the DA. It will be up to the DA to file any charges.

Good to here you are ok. Good move on how you played the situation. Once the tempers escalate, anything can go wrong.
