I went shopping for a Pinlock visor insert for my Shoei XR1000 helmet today. Having checked on availability for ordering pre-fitted visors for my helmet, I found a DIY kit (carefully check--yup! Fits Shoei CX-1 visor!) in the shop and took it home to install. Carefully marked and drilled holes...then found out the holes were 1/2" (about 1cm) too far apart. WTF?
A very careful check of my visor revealed it is a CX-1V.
I'll see if I can get my $$ back on the kit, but it was clearly labelled as fitting a CX-1 visor, not mine. I'm betting I've got a very fancy fog-free visor insert I can't use, holes in my visor, and a pressing need to order the pre-drilled visor and insert I was looking at in the first place.
What really crimps my jockeys is that I could have just done that first and saved my AU$40.
