The long and short of it is, everybody has to ride and decide for themselves what's most important to them. Wearing gear and giving urself the best possible chance of as little injury as possible if u go down..vs... its hot outside and I just dont feel like getting all the gear on; or IM just riding down for a soda at the mini mart, its only a mile away.

Im not condeming either way of thinking, but personally whenever I feel like riding w/ out gear I always think of 2 things..

My family and how I/they would feel if I could have prevented some injury by taking the extra minutes to put the gear on..

and simply this old cliche'.. Sweat washes off, road rash doesnt.
