Kickstand problems

I have a 2002 Katana 600. When my kick stand is in the horizontal position (riding position) there is to much play in it & it drops down tripping the sensor shutting my engine off. Has any one experienced this problem & what can I do to fix it?

by chance is the spring streached?

Change spring.

I had the same problem. Kickstand fell and bike shut off when I'd hit about 50MPH. Changed the springs and it works like new.
