  • Need a quick picture...

This should be a quickie, can someone post a closeup shot of the 2 tank mounting bolts on a 98+? They are the ones the front of the seat rests on, I forgot how they are supposed to mount (which rubber cushions and bolts to use) and the fiche isn't much help. Bonus points if you can take one of them out and post a pic of the individual parts.

    Thanks!

So THAT'S what it looks like when you have all the hardware...

        everyone's got jokes

I haven't had the tank on in over a year, I forgot how the bolts went on. I just remembered about the seat cushion bolts for the tail a few days ago, and came to find out that over the last 13 months a ton of the cushions and rubber grommets evaporated.

Apparently these little rubber pieces make great chew toys

Mine didnt have half of the hardware when I bought it. I spent almost 200 bux at bike bandit replacing bolts, groments, and other misc. stuff.

Just so I have this straight, the order is:

                        Screw
                        Metal Washer
                        Rubber Cushion
                        Metal Washer
                        Tank
                        Rubber Cushion
                        Metal Receiving Bracket

                        That sound about right?

YEah, that's right. The rubber cushion with the "outtie" goes on the bottom.

I had to look it up too as my bike wasnt bolted down correctly. It is now.

My kat didnt even come with bolts for the tank, still doesnt have any.

oh well, it makes for easy access when random things like my THROTTLE CABLE COMING LOOSE on the highway happen during a group ride
