  • first ride!

So today I finally went for my first ride ever on a Katana and I loved it. It's really comfortable, tons of power.
The crappy part is I'm still getting used to the friction point comming from stopped to first and there was all these chicks standing outside a DQ and I stalled twice in front of them. Smooth

lol I think that happens to all of us once in a while. Once you get a little more time on it, the clutch won't be nearly as much of a problem starting out.

Just keep at her and all will be good. When I first started riding I went on back roads through my town where there was no traffic and lots of intersections. I stopped at every one to get the take off under control. After that I progressively moved to more crowded roads until I was comfortable around cars.

Haha, it's ok. I remember my instructor stalled out when i took the MSF. It happens to everybody.

Just go to an open parking lot, (with no hot chicks watching) and practice going through a few of the gears up... and then back down to stop... and from a stop... start all over again... Make as many laps as you need to... The clutch will become second nature to you in no time. Then go and find the Hot Chicks...

lol nice story! Practice makes perfect. The empty parking lot makes for great practice space. Enjoy the ride bro!

Excellent! As others have said, you will get use to the clutch, just take the time to practice. If you haven't yet, take the MSF course and spend some time getting use to the bike before you go out onto busy roads and freeways.

So to avoid that ever happing again here is what you do. Every time you are stopped and start to take off just wrap the RPM up to 10,000 and pop the clutch you will never stall again haha
