didn't know exactly where to fit this, but no point in making 2 topics

    1. Has anyone ridden with a helmet on the lock? I want to know if anything might possibly interfere with the chain or tire.

    2. Is the stock exhaust on a 06 750 supposed to turn goldish?

    thanks for answers/feedback

idk about the exhaust turning goldish, although i think the exhaust on my brothers old 06' 600 kinda turned a tarnished look...

and as far as the helmet on the lock, i have... not on the lock thing by the chain, but i've strapped it to the helmet hook under the seat. doesnt interfere at all, you feel it on the back of your leg, but that's it.

Same as above, had my 2nd helmet on under seat hook and it worked awesome, didn't even notice it there.

As for the exhaust, try some good metal polish like autosol?

Those under the seat hooks are neat but people usually don't know they have them until someone tells them about it.

Never with the lower helmet lock, but the one under the seat works fine when riding.

ah, i didnt even try the seat hook. i looked at and figured it was too close to the seat and would be a bother to my leg.

As for the golding, its just a matter of cleaning it? i've tried polishing it and general cleaning but that didnt do anything.... I like the colour though, its complementary to the silver and red.

The color is caused by heat, and it is natural. Here is an example of the color range depending on the temp reached. Please keep in mind this is an estimate of the color, and not an exact due to monitor settings on your computer.

These colors may seem familiar for some exhaust cans that have been treated with heat just to bring them out.

I would say that riding with your helmet on the helmet lock would be hazardous and unsafe based on how it lies when I secure mine to the lock when at the store. The helmet strap dangles dangerously close to the chain and I'm sure with any movement would get tangled up in said chain. I too have ridden with my spare helmet secured to the hook under the seat numerous times with no problems.

Dont ever ride with the helmet lock on the side. Always use the one thats under the seat. the side one will flop around. i dont think your exhaust is supposed to turn colors. Try a product called FLITZ. Its a small little factory thats down the road from me. Best product ive ever used in my life on metals. check out their website and order some. pretty cheap. try it. i guarentee it will work
