  • Where is the engine number?

i have an 05 750 and i need to find the engine number in order to transfer the title. Do i have to take the fairing off?
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

He was so full of knowlege it's astounding
Reading the news, my heart was pounding.
My prayers go out to his family & friends.
He is the best there was and ever been.

you need the engine number to transfer title? What state are you in? Most states just need the VIN from the sticker on the frame.
      Let's go riding!

Minnesota. On the title there's a line to write the engine number and the ladies and the DMV said i needed it.

Going though the same thing.. Luckily we won't have to stand in line! again!
I think Chris is wrong. You probably have to peel the fairing off.
As he pointed out there is a flat part on the top of the case forward of the oil filler.

          You're up by St Cloud?
You will have to come by the Hanger next time we're there.. Its in Shoreview..

most of the clutch cover is not covered on a 98+. Wouldn't expect you to know much about fairings BP

BP, I have to agree with you. Taking the fairing off would make it a TON easier. The question was "do you need to take the fairing off?" The answer is no.
