  • Finally did it...Diamond Plated my Seat...not 56K friendly.

It's been a while since my last blog about getting my seat redone. After taking it to the upolstry place and them working on it and me finally getting time to pick it up...Also on one of my many ebay purchases I got a grab bar that was chipped..I went a head and stripped off all the paint...what a pain in the butt...and then washed it and used some polishing chemical to polish it up...Here it is...

    The pipe side:

Seat from the Front of the Bike:

    Seat from the Back:

    Seat By itself on bike:

Now onto the next mod some time in the near future...

Edit: Shrank the pics for everyone..

I love the seat. I'd been thinking about doing chrome as well
but the price of the fabric from Alsa was way too prohibitive...
orders are more for industrial customers.
Did you provide the material or did your upholsterer have it? How much did he charge?
Sorry, I'm sure the rest of your work is great but right now I can't
get past the seat. Thanks for giving us a look.

I would love to do my seat with that stuff and a tire cover for the Jeep.

For those asking...the price of the material was extremely cheap and the guy I bought it from was great!! The site is:

He sells all kinds of material...I looked at Second Look and the same style would have cost me an arm and a leg and I still would have had to have it installed...I think I paid too much for the to have the material put on the seat but oh well next time I'm going to price it out...Total cost me about $120.00 ($20 material and 100.00 labor to install) plus I still have enough material to probably do another seat or keep incase this one gets vandalized...hopefully not...

As for the heat...don't know yet just put it on the bike today...we'll see...it's marine vinyl so it is supposed to be really durable against the weather and for what I was told by Second Look, met them at a show, it is the same material they use...

Stickers question...I have more to put on but need to get through some more stuff before I put them on...
