It was at KCIR. Could have probably got in 6-7 runs but had some track problems and cars blow up.....

I was the heaviest...slowest...oldest bike. I LOVE IT. My bike wasn's closest to the fastest but for what I payed, its DAMN fast enough......to give ME a thrill. I want to improve my launch technique.....ride height and some other things. I will also remove my mirrors next time...I am sure those things aren't helping.

I also rode 45 miles to get there...so my bike was PLENTY hot.....the other runners were TRAILER QUEENS and business bikes. I mean, they were awesome, but how about the TRUE runners.

I had fun, and will do it again....

Soooo...cut the perfect light and you ran 12.8s and 9s. Not bad for a street bike on stock tires and 20 year old technology! Faster than 90% of the cars on the road.

Noticed the times got slower as the bike continued to run. Heat?

im goign to take mine here in a few weeks. Im thinking i will do better since my -1/+6 sprocket change. My bike has WAY MORE take off speed. and since i doubt i'll hit 140 anywhere the top is of no use to me.

I know heat soak was a problem it was hot as bullocks! The track wasn't in great shape either.....everyone was complaining of slipping at the line....I even got a kick as WHEELIE as I took off my last run........they had just laid down another coat of 'bubble gum' and boy was it sticky....It was hard not to get stuck while staging.

I would say next time I am going to bring a fan and some ice water to mist the oil cooler with hoping to help a little with my heat soak.

Where do you get those numbers? I am just curious what you used to calculate to get to that.

Stock 2002 Katana 600 with the exception of a Yosh slip-on. 17 yr old @ 150lbs onboard. Best timeslip:

                    R/T .121
                    60' 1.821
                    330 5.042
                    1/8 7.761
                    MPH 89.44
                    1000 10.167
                    1/4 12.235
                    MPH 107.91

With a few minor mods and a little better 60' time it might have nipped into the very high 11's. Sold the bike about a month ago so I'll never know.
While some people may bad mouth the Kats performance, I know a lot of street cars that would like those performance #'s
                    02 TL1000R, 05 Hayabusa, 02 Katana 600.....Sold

                        MPH- 114.76

60' time needs some work. My aim is 11.5 this week. Didn't race last week. Just noticed that my chain was so stretched that it wouldn't sit right on my sprocket sometimes. So I ordered a new chain, -1 front sprocket, and a shift kit (I believe my detent spring is worn out- keeps dropping into neutral from second)
