  • The Good...The Bad...and the Stupid

OK, well I FINALLY got the new windscreen and pipe installed! Here is the kicker...I'm out on a ride yesterday with a good friend, and right as we pull up to a Starbucks, I dump the bike doing about 2MPH. If that isn't bad enough, there are about 20 people milling around out front that got to witness this amazing feat. Needless to say, I was sprawled out on the ground and all I could do was laugh my ass off. It only caused minor damage to the top left fairing, so I count myself lucky. I've included a pic of the damaged paint for all of your enjoyment. Word of advice to noobs and everyone else...DO NOT USE YOUR FRONT BRAKE WHILE TURNING OR SLOW MANUVERS!!! The sad thing is that I just finished my first MSF class, and they went over this quite a few times. F it...I'm OK...the bike is OK...I guess all is well...

No front brake and use your body to counterweight the bike (the other way around when at speed)

                        It's not your fault...
Sue Starbucks!!! (I hate those places)

Better to pop your crash cherry at 2 MPH instead of 52 MPH!!
Glad only your pride was hurt!!

I did the same thing in my steeply sloped driveway in front of the neighbors... Bike fell to the low side of the hill. Luckily I was able to unplant my foot before the full weight of the bike was on my thigh, because I could already feel my knee being pushed hard to the outside in a very unnatural direction.
