Tim, did the new RF900 shock increase your backend by (a noticible) much?

I was thinking about a bandit shock, but didn't know I needed to modify the kick for it...

I am going with the RF shock too and I would like to know the height difference? If it really is a issue to extend the kick stand.

i lowered my bike , but now have to bend kickstand so bike leans more when on it. on level ground its only about a 10degree lean. Easily knocked over.

i wish i would have measured it before installing the RF shock - bolt to bolt.
i could stand flat footed very easily - now my heels are just off the ground.

the first time i got off the bike i thought i was going to fall off it leaned so far. i'm thinking 1/4 to 3/8 extension would be fine.

yes, but it's not a good idea. if you have to retain the ride height it's better to pull the dogbones off & make them a little longer.

How about trying a pre98 side stand. The pre98 side stands are about a 1/4 inch longer and it should bolt on directly.

From the bottom of the foot of the sidestand to the center of the bolt it measures 9 5/8". How long is the 98+ stand?
