+1. Last time I got pulled over in my cage, I pulled over before the cop turned his flashers on. The second he got the the window, I said "Officer, I apologize for going as fast as I was, I had no reason to be speeding, and didn't realize how fast I was going". And he just kinda gave me a look of total supprise. And said "I appreciate your honesty, I'm going to let you off with a warning" I thought that was nice of him.

The one that freaked me out and suprised me the most was at 4am on a sunday morning....about 20 years ago. I was out at a bar in Canada on the border, and picked up this yankee chick (that is what we called them then...still do I guess). Anyway, to took her home about one and spent a few hours giving her the canadian bacon. On my way home, which was only about 20 min to the border, I noticed a statey parked in an used car lot....I saw his lights on top. I went by doing 70 in a 30. I never even let off the gas...I was busy trying to shape up and think of an excuse...and check to make sure there wasn't a roach or any other paraphalia loose in the car. He came right up on my ass and I was still rolling along. He chirped the siren a few times. He got out with his gun pulled and told me to show my hands...which I did. He told me to step out of the car. I was freaking a bit, but all in all, I was all legal and fairly straight. He asked me what my hurry was. Just off the top my head....just like that...it came to me. I explained I was supposed to be spending the night with my gf, but I got a call from my mom that my brother was in a wreck in Canada and I was on my way to the hospital, and that is why I look like I just got out of bed...which I did. He looked at me for a sec, then said to follow him. I had a police escort to the border. Lights and all. Then I had to repeat the same excuse to the canadian customs to explain why I was escorted to the border by a state police...and they in turn just waved me through.
I was really surprised he bought it. As soon as I said it, I realized he may have heard that excuse before. But seeing as the hospital was in Canada, and not being to call in about any wreck, he gave me the benefit of the doubt and let me go. It was so cool.
I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

I have never been pulled over on a bike. Knock on wood. I have however, gotten several tickets in the cage. Traveling for work like I do it is almost inevitable that you will get a few. As of a couple weeks ago, I had a perfect record, 37 states and at least one ticket in all of them LOL, since my trip to SurfinCR's house in Connecticut, I now have 37 out of 39 and I am in no hurry to reinstate my perfect record

slytly, that was funny. but i've been pulled over a couple times on the bike. once, it was like 12:30, and i was zig zagging in my lane (i was the only person on the road) and the state trooper pulled me over saying i was all over the road. but he was just fishing for a DUI. the second time i was riding with my buddy joe and we were both bouncing out on the freeway (like 95ish) and a trooper lit us both up. we both pulled over and he told me to keep going. he got a ticket for 92 in a 65. good thing for him, he didn't get any fines for now having his endorsement. i guess cops know that blue isn't as fast as yellow
if its got 2 wheels or a skirt....i'll ride it.

i've avoided traffic fines in a few instances. most of those incidents were very embaressing, so i'll only mention the clean one.

i ran a yellow light, cop pulls me over. i didn't even start to panic. he came to my window, and i told him i was following the car in front of me home, and i didn't know where they lived (so i had to stay right behind them). he didn't even scold me. he just gave me my stuff, and left.

If I can't get out of them using my intellect or silver tongue, I just give them to an attorney that *poof* makes them go away! (for a fee, of course!)

                          Unpaid or paid?

I don't know about unpaid... you might find an answer here:
http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/ddl/faqsuspend.html. I know ones from Leon county get sent out to a "collections agency" after a certain amount of time, which are handled by an outside law firm from that point on...

Here in Florida, paid/dismissed/adjudicated ones fall off your active driving record here after 3 years, although they are kept in the records system for literally decades.

Unpaid, of course. And they will never get paid.
Only way I will ever pay them is if I get pulled over in those states and they mention it.
I was just curious. Thanks for the read though.

fyi...here in quebec they suspend your license if you don't pay. If you get caught driving on the suspended license, it is a $425 fine and they seize your car for 30 days. You car or anyone elses....meaning if you are driving a friends car and they stop you, your friend loses the car for 30 days.

You may find yourself taking a nice trip to the local lock-up if you show back up in one of those states and get pulled over... Isn't the rally in NC? Might be worthwhile to pay that one at least Just tell them it flew out the window during your travels and you need to get it straightened out...

                              Cheers

haven't gotten one on the bike yet. i really wouldn't mind paying a speeding ticket if i was actually really speeding, but the damn insurance increase is insane. (all alliteration aside)
