More urgent advice needed! Is this a good price on a 2002 600?

I decided to pass on the 1993 Kat 750, and instead I've found a 2002 Kat 600. Seems to be in good shape. Needs a new battery and it has a little rash down one side (nothing too bad).

Apart from that, it seems to be in pretty good shape.

$1,800.

Any thoughts?

I paid $2800 for mine with minor scraps for a driveway drop. It's been a good investment so far. (I have an 02).

I wouldn't advise jump starting it off a running car, but if you can jump it off a stopped car/car battery to make sure it runs fine when the battery is good.

The reason to not jump off a running car is that motorcycle charging systems tend to provide slightly lower voltage than car ones, and the car alternator can manage to damage parts of the bike. I know people who have had serious problems after jumping off running cars.

Hard to pass up an 02 for that kind of $. I'd give it a good once over and make sure she still purrs. Good luck!
