That's a possibility -- battery in the clock that only gets used when the main battery isn't connected... Would explain the long shelf-life on the clock battery.
Ok...let's say I go with that. It's still been over 2 years with no battery in the bike, and 2 winters with temeratures well below zero for 5 months or so. pretty damn good battery.
I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.
Ya never know, could be two or three watch batteries in parallel. That way it barely draws on them (your average watch will last 3 years or so) and if one goes bad cause of the weather, you still have two more.
