I do it from time to time when I am riding hard. Most of the time I will do it when I am coming out of a corner.

I would say 90% of the time I do.

It is real hard on the bike on the down shift IMHO
I shift up clutchless all the time!!!! I haven't missed a gear in years, now I will tomorrow LMAOTDA Racing/Motorsports

i always use the clutch as well... however, i will often just slip the clutch a bit to unload the gears instead of fully disengaging it... it doesnt take much, and there is no *clunk* or broken traction... i do not think i lose any time by doing this, but to me, there is no question that i am being easier on the driveline...

Don't do this too much 1-2 on a katana unless you dislike 2nd gear.
I do it all the time, up and down. Generally, when I am riding hard, and usually just for 3-4, 4-5 and 5-4, 4-3.
