  • Best products to clean with..

Its spring time and everybody, including myself is digging our bikes out from under all the blankets in the corner of the garage, in anticipation of riding again!

What products are you using to wash the bike up and get it all nice and ready to go for that first ride ?

Mequires ? Motorex ? Honda polish?

Meguires polish for the pipe, and regular old carwash stuff, and a big sponge for the bike.

i never wash my bike any more i use Black Magic Spray Detailer. I spray it on..use a microfiber cloth rub it in real quick over entire bike. Come back immediatly and wipe off with dry side of cloth. Leaves a ULTRA smooth (like astro-glide for those of u who know what it is) finish with the wet looks. Very very great stuff. Only time i wash is when im cleaning rims and even then only if i get rest of bike wet.

Walmart has the big gallon jugs of mequires pink car wash...man that stuff works great... no soapy residue to rinse off the next time, no streaks, dries nice.

I wash with Simonize car wash in my pressure washer, shamois it all...detail the black plastic with tire black, meguires scratch X on any little scratches, detail the wheels with WD-40 to give them a gloss and remove any grease that is still on them, then finish it off with the Honda spray cleaner.

I wax the whole bike about three times a year

Wash ? What is this "wash" you speak of ?
Somtimes it seems the dirt and grease is the only thing holding the bike together sometimes !

                Honda Spray Polish

When I can't see the color of the bike any more (now-springtime), I break down and use the hose.

I'm a huge fan of Mothers Products.

I used to use just normal car wash, and then last year discovered that Mr. Clean wash, I use it on the bike, and shamois it off

I use Kit car wash when I do a full cleaning. When I don't I will use Kit bike wash. Just spary it on, rub t in then go back with another cloth and take it off. I use Honda polish, and Meguries products. I use the liquid gold class to wax it every so often. As for my rims, I use windex to clean the Chrome up.

Anybody got any suggestions for a really top quality polish?

don't forget the duct tape and the tie-wraps... Maybe we should ask for a rat bike section on here? My bike seems to be slowly evolving into one
