My starter went out on my bike and i was wondering what model starter i needed. i looked on ebay and i guess the starters on there are kinda universal because one says it will fit a bandit or a kat and i just dont want to buy something that won't fit. can someone help me with some info

Look for anyone that is for a 98 and up Kat. I am not sure about the Bandit but maybe someone will chime in. You could check the parts numbers at Ron Ayers and see if they carry the same #.
This one will fit.

There are two part numbers that would apply to you. It appears Suzuki actually changed the starter at one point for the 600's. Here's the applicable part numbers:
Suzuki P/N 31100-32C11 fits
Suzuki GSF600S BANDIT 1996-1999
Suzuki GSX600F KATANA 1998-2000
Suzuki P/N 31100-08F00 fits
Suzuki GSF600S BANDIT 2000-2003
Suzuki GSX750F KATANA 1998-2004
Suzuki GSX600F KATANA 2001-2004
Whether the two are interchangable, I don't know, but I would expect them to be.
