  • Found a random connection

So the fairings are still off my bike following my valve adjestment. I'm doing some cleaning and working on a mesh mod. While cleaning it, I noticed a random connector on the right hand side of the bike on the front frame tube-near the turn signal pigtail. The bike is at work, but if I recall, it's a 3 wire connector with a brown housing. Anyone have an idea what it's for?

Cali plug maybe? Write down the wire colors, and check the wiring diagram.

Cali plug...that sounds familiar from a post I once read. (and yeah, I searched a lot on this before posting this thread)

      That just might be it..

Sounds like the optional fan set up for California bikes (i.e. the cali plug). The hot should turn on and off with your key - great for wiring up, say, running lights or those l.e.d.'s that are so popular with the kids these days...

I had my signals plugged into what I THOUGHT was the right plugs . Turns out they were key-on constant hots . Turned my signals into running lights .
