Bike into truck bed?

Whats the easiest way to do this? I'm planning on bringing my bike up here to duluth so I want to put it in my truck. Once i'm up here i know i could have the help of a bunch of football guys but when i'm by myself I'm not sure how to do this. I've heard/read somewhere that parking the truck by a loading dock type thing then driving the bike onto the truck. If thats not possible what are some other options?

There are several threads here w/ recent activity that have plenty of pics and info about strapping it down in the bed of a truck, and the best ways to tie it down. I'll see if I can dig a couple of them up for ya.

Ramps are the way to go , then just throw 'em in the back of the truck.

DO NOT ride your bike up the ramps, however tempting it may be.

You could also do it the old school way, by using you tailgate for a ramp.

They're labeled as "ATV" ramps, but don't worry...the design is virtually identical to the "Motorcycle" ramps, and they are even stronger. I used them for my Kat, and now use them for the KLX.

Too funny, I had to have the lumber because the aluminum wouldn't hold up with the snowmobile

To answer your question directly...the EASIEST way to do it is to find an elevation change in a parking lot, or on a slope (like a driveway with a fairly steep hill) and back the truck up to it so that the ramp is essentially level, or just below level. Then you use two ramps to walk/drive your bike on the level surface into the truck bed.

I know you shouldn't ride it up/over, but I do every time, even though I use two ramps. I use the second ramp for my foot, if I need to push off.

The key here is to crank down your ramps! strap them to the trailer hitch or something, or they will shoot out from under you as you give power to the rear wheel.

Okay, I'm guilty as well. I walk/throttle my bike under power up the ramp. But, like Bisq, I have the ramps cranked down...and also, like Bisq, I'm a big guy that can man-handle even a beast like the Kat.
