  • New Kat Rider ( :) ) Some Q&A please

Hey guys, I love my 2005 Kat, it is great.

    A few questions:

Is $3250.00 for a 2005 in good condition with 1500 miles a good deal?

Is riding a workout or is that just something my friends tell me, I have ride for 300 miles in the past few days and I don't really feel tired?...

BTW where can I buy some custom fairings?
oh no .. its mr. bill

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Comfort is relative, but generally the kat is pretty comfortable. Custom fairings? No idea.

The workout part comes from how you ride. Do a track day and you'll feel it. Congrats on the bike.

Excellent deal around here. Riding the Kat is not a work out. What kind of bikes do your friends have? Sounds like their bikes might be uncomfortable. The Kat is very comfortable!

No custom fairings for the Kat.

Actually compared to driving a car the Kat would be considered a workout...it just depends how you ride...I like my Kat and hopefully you will enjoy yours..

              Really good price!
Canyon-carving can be a good workout on any bike.
              Trackdays - A definite workout.
Commuting, touring and long rides on a Kat... comfy.

In my area an 05 Kat 750 would retail on the top end at 5315 and would have a trade in value of about 3660 according to kelly blue book. Sounds like you got a great deal!! CONGRATS and WELCOME

Superb deal. It was worth at least a grand more unless it's damaged or a post-wreck rebuild.

Varies by rider and bike. I can do about 600 miles on a Kat before I start to really "feel" it, but after 50 miles on an Yamaha R6, I'm a pretzel. If you work out, it probably also helps -- riding often uses muscles that aren't used by most desk-dwellers (such as supporting a helmet against a headwind), but the 98+ Kat's fairings are more protective and the riding ergonomics significantly better than 90% of the bikes out there IMHO.

BraadaConcepts.com makes a cowl cover for the rear seat. Aside from that, you're not going to find custom fairings for it to buy, although you could theoretically fabricate your own.
