  • Speaking of stupid ricers ...

At the parking lot of a local store I saw what is quite possible the dumbest thing ever . I saw a Ford Contour with a huge wing , stupid vinyl "rip" , a coffee can exhast , blue windshield wipers , and a broken off front "spoiler" . Good god , what was that idjit thinking ? A Ford Contour ?

Thats better than what we have around here. Same thing, except Neons and chevy cavs. Seven years old and beat down, worth 1200 bucks but it has $2000 rims a tires, $1000 in stereo, a chrome gas cap, nasty sounding exhaust, oh and the paint is falling off. Lol
Common sense is great, it's just not all that common.

Actually there is a SVT (factory high performance) Contour..

I saw a cool car the other day.. Some chevy/olds/buick thing with a rear wing...
Made from 2 X 4s.. it was obiously a joke..

For what it is, the SVT Contour is pretty tough looking in itself

I have seen the wooden "ground effects kit" picture. It is fantastic.

Well , I doubt THIS Contour was the "cool" SVT one . The wing was obviously a bolt-on job , being so ginourmous , and the exhaust could not have been factory , as it was WAY tacky for a factory bit . I just thought "WTF is that guy doing that to a CONTOUR for?" .

Md86 I totally know what you mean, I've seen a minivan with those coffee can exhausts, also a riced out ford escort...After riding in a ford escort I know for a fact its anything but performance. It just seems like a total waste of money to me.

EXACTLY ! I have an escort wagon , and I thought about plastering a bunch of Neuspeed stickers on it and a big dumb wing just to see what would happen ! There are certain cars that it's ok to try to soup-up , and there are others that really just shouldn't be bothered with . I like my car , but I know it ain't fast OR furious .

start with something good at least. i wouldn't do anything to any car unless it was an audi, bmw or at least something worthwhile

When I was down in Alabama, I seen a Ford Aspire (Think mid 90's Ford Brand Geo) with this exhaust pipe that came out, and up at a 45 degree angle. It was up high enough that you would be able to see it in the rearview mirror!!!

I wish I would have had my camera. It was so freaking funny.

Thom, I seen one of those too!!!

A guy down in Winona MN used to have this POS 90 or 91 cavilier with Hydrolics. He would park it on 3 wheels and everything, it was ridicuolous.

yea there are a lot of cars that ford had or even anyone had that made some decent power that people dont know about, like the ford contore svt, the 91-94 z24's the 93 5sp sho's the 94 probes, that year probe believe it or not runs under 15seconds in the quartermile, not bad in my books, same thing with that sho
