Looking for over charging thread

I have a 89 GSX1100 and it is charging at 15.7 volts. I know there is a thread about this issue but I cant find it. Can any one send me the thread so I can trouble shoot this issue. Any help will be welcome as I am about to start rebuilding another GSX and I wold like to mod it as well as my rider.

Test the voltage at the orange wire as it enters the alternator. It should read battery voltage exactly. 14v +- at idle 15-16 above 3000 is about normal. If you see bat collage on the orange wire and idle voltage is 15.7 you may need a regulator or alternator.

Ill Check that next time I have the tank off, thanks for the info. I put the bike to bed for the winter but I think it will be getting the coil mod when I et the other GSX up and running.
