  • 1100- Measuring Alternator Output

As I understand it, these alternators are the same on the Bandit 1200's, which gives a significant amount of current output (405w @ 12v= 33.75A). With that being said, I would like to verify what it's really putting out. Could I use an amp clamp to measure this? Or, where would I place my probes at that 5k rpm to see this?

They are rated by amp, you will not be able to test that at home. An alt shop could do that for you but, why? The alternator can handle more than the bike needs.
