Every Kat I've seen with a fuse, has a 30A fuse for the main.

Not all pre's had the breakers.... there was some inconsistency with that. The 97 I had did not have a breaker.

The 96-97 had a 25 amp fuse in the fuse block.
? If everybody is saying its a 30amp breaker, why did you install a 20 then a 25? It's a 30! Install a 30 amp breaker or do want me to send the one I offered? Or buy the OEM breaker, they are cheap. FYI max current across a fuse is 80%. 25=80% +20%=5 then you need a 30.

To answer your question...I've not personally seen and documentation saying its a 30A. I just installed the 20A because I had no idea and Kat Toy said it worked, which it does. Then I tested the circuit with the amp meter and the result showed 25A , thats why I installed the 25A.
Since I'm learning as I go, I've come to the conclusion that the circuit pulls the amps it needs. Therefore, you could be absolutely correct that it requires a 30A. In other words, if the battery is weak, it may pull more amps.
So now you can see, I'm not saying your wrong. Just stating the facts.
