Besides checking battery and such, anything I should do to fuel?
I plan on adding slip-on pipes and jetting as well as new tires...

    advice?

EDIT*** bike only has 10,000 miles

Did you put stabil in the gas or change the oil?

If fuel is more than 6-8 months old, drain it. Check/Change plugs, check all fluid levels, and battery and fire it up. If you did not treat the fuel prior to storage, this is a must. Your carbs may be gummed due to leaving fuel in them too long.

I always run some Seafoam in the gas tank on first fill up in the spring, helps clean the carbs.

don't forget to check the air in the tires, chain, just a basic overall preride inspection. I check these things before every ride, not just after storage.
Move handlebars lock-lock make sure throttle is working smoothly, brakes, oil level, lights working,no unusual noises.
          Then brotha............ride on!!
