just a reminder about cold weather and cold tires
I have run five tanks of fuel threw already this season , mostly at just above freezing temps
Got a butt cheek clenching thrill tonight going into a hard left turn and the rear tire broke loose under hard braking
I am willing to bet there are a few of us that are riding as hard as we normally would but are forgeting about little things like cold tires that really won't heat up when it this cold

With all the posts that keep poping up regarding dropped bikes ,if this post saves one person its worth it

We were out hunting some twisties today and before we hit the good stuff we had this very conversation. Between the salt and sand residue and the cold temps it can get sketchy in a hurry.

Thanks for the reminder Rex and I'm glad you came through it in one piece.

I can surely relate to that. Had an emergency maneuver on cold tires/cold road. I did not have good results.

Man, what's up with the salt, you can shovel it off the road it's so deep. We get a light dusting of snow and they dropped a million tons of salt on it. We need a good rain to clean things up so I can see what this 650 will do.

I've had the rear tire break out at least twice already this season. And it hasn't even been under "stop on a dime" or sharp lean conditions.

It's been raining a lot followed by nice weather here on the east coast lately. You all should ride over this way, the roads are great!
                Let's go riding!
