I am however pretty big and the seating is almost right for me as weird as that sounds. The only problem I have encountered is after longer rides my manhood isnt very happy. Having yourself plastered up against the tank isnt the best feeling after a few hours.

How do you guys deal? Are there longer seats I can look into getting?
W'sup little fella ........ J/K, I'm 6'6, 295 lbs (down from 345 lbs since 09/2008) and before I buy a bike, I sit on it. I know what feel I'm looking for in a bike. In your situation, you amy get some relief if you go with an after-market seat. I'm pimpin' the Corbin on my Kat1100 and it's pretty comfy.

I don't know how your 285 is displaced but I have been losing weight (about 30 lbs over the last 3 monthes) and it has made all the difference in handling and even performance. You may want to think about getting another or bigger bike.

Its not horrible. I am more than happy with the bike. I was just seeing if there were different options for seating is all. This was bought as a daily driver to make parking a bit easier at my workplace and save on gas. Its not like I live that far away in the first place so its not that big of a deal.

The corbin seat does seem to be the way to go however.

Someone mentioned lycra tights. I used to ride a mountain-bike to and from work and the lycra bike-shorts made ALL the difference.

A long ride on the kat, and I'm searching for those bike-shorts. Only made the mistake of riding "commando" once.

Hm...I'm getting an odd association with an old TV commercial jingo: "Lift and separate!"

uhhhhhhhh.... i'm not sure i want any form of "separation" going on with my boys. they've grown far too attached over the years to have anything come between them. too much pain and turmoil to go through if they were separated...

Not THAT much separation. Just enough to keep them ahead of my weight and...er...outta the way. Last thing I wanna do is scoot things down one pantleg or the other and climb aboard. That's a recipe for pain and suffering.
