  • Finally took some pics

Here are some pics of my brake and clutch lever that i cut down and polished back in july. Just never had a camera to take pics with.

Anywho, when i went down, it broke the ball end of my clutch lever off. I didn't want to replace it (cause I'm cheap ) so i just smoothed down the broken end and polished it up. Well, now the bike didn't look symmetrical so I did the same the the front brake lever. The pictures tell the rest of the story

              I cut mine down too..
I noticed I liked being able to use two fingers on the clutch and getting the lever to the bar on my busted one.. (MX style)
So I cut down my brand spanking new ones...
              Whats next Dan!?!?

Have you put a coating on the bar ends yet to keep them from rusting?

Actually woobies right they are steel (bar ends, not levers )

Nope still havn't put anything on them. Just turtle wax. After the gap rally, they were pretty rusted up, so i just brought them back up to shine on the buffing wheel, and gave a coat of wax when i was washing the bike. A quick re-coat every now and then keeps em shining. It helps too that the kat gets to sleep in the garage all the time.

Dan you may want to try some Butchers bowling alley wax on your bar ends. This stuff is great for protecting metal. I use is on polished pieces and it works well and is durable. Just make sure that you get the clear one.

I was talking about the lever's. Yes steel does rust!
