Thanks to Sandman, I patiently waited and purchased a grab bar from ebay and installed it. Changed the oil, used my power washer on the bottom side of the bike and lower fairing. Been riding a lot and even got caught in the rain today. Notching the experience bit by bit.

Grab bar? Thank goodness for google. Nope, it didn't come with one. There's other cosmetic "problems" (can't complain for an 8yr old bike) . It has some road rash on the left side of the tank. I'll probably remove all the stickers and replace Katana on the side with white lettering. It's missing the oil cover? Looking at some of the bikes here already, my front amber lights look really awful against the blue. So many things to do!

Hey welcome to KatRider... I live in Fairfax, VA also and just got my bike a few weeks ago. Let me know if you want to get up and go for a ride sometime.

Just an update on my bike:

                    1. Installed a Stebel airhorn.
                    2. Got a replacement oil filler cover (was missing it)
                    3. Replaced alternator (cheaper for a used alternator than it was for a new rectifier/regulator)
