  • Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail

If your looking for a vacation ride. Consider the Cabot Trail. It takes acouple of days to do it right. But, there's motels and B& Bs along the way.
I've done it in a car a couple of times. Going on the bike this summer.

    Take a look.

It's about 280 miles long. Unfortunately there's no scenery.

How good is the paving ? Can you be pretty agressive without worrying about how the pavement around the next corner is ? That would definitely be a sweet vacation !!
Some people are a lot like Slinkys.
Not really good for anything, but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

            Sweet ride

            The pavement is awesome "T".
            It is a "Must Ride".

Don't you know, all roads in Nova Scotia lead to SunnyVale trailer park.
It's under the shadow of the Nova Scotia power station smoke stacks. and their visible from space.

i work along the trail.. the paving in the park is great; its when you're in the little "villages" that aren't considered part of the park that the roads can be a little bumpy.
while you're in the park i'd be more worried about a moose running out in front of you... it happens, believe me.
i've got some pics and i'll be taking the bike through the trail if anyone wants me to post em i will. there are lots of hiking trails too.
and if its not moose it might be one of these (just outside of neils harbour about 2 weeks ago)

                  Bad Timing

I'm planning on riding it through July 27, 28th.
I think I'm gonna just miss meeting you Monk.

Hey, how are you getting there?

If your taking the Yarmouth or Saint John ferry from Maine, you'll have to come through my town.

Check out this location on Map quest

                  Postal code - B4N 3E5

And hey Medic maybe I can say hey on the way through?

I was looking for a recommendation for a good Motel.
Maybe you can point me in the right direction?

                  Thanks

Wow, definately sounds like an awesome place to ride.

So visible are they from up in space?

                      Final frontier

The smoke stacks actually belong to Nova Scotia Power.

300 Miles from the Cabot TRail.

Still however, apparently visible from the shuttle.
                      THe smoke that is.

I will ride there , no ferry at all. I95 north , than continue in Canadia , and ride all the way . I am giving myself 2 days from Boston to the entrance of Nova Scotia.

The short ferry ( from canada) is 45 $ per motorcycle , REALLY exepensive I think especially for a 3h ferry.

And the long one , from Maine , is 12hours and 75 bucks.

I say : doesn't worth it unless you are in a hurry, which we might be on the way back .

Where do you live Bob ?

280 miles, and it takes a coupla days to cover???

I can cover that in just a few hours

Really though, that looks like a beautiful ride. I would love to head up there some day on the bike.
